Social capital is one of the most important issues in the corona pandemic and how governments respond to this crisis is of great significance. One of the main questions related to the subject of social capital is how the media influence. This is the action that must naturally have a unified procedure and a single rationality in critical situations. Undoubtedly, the lack of such unity and rationality has adverse effects on the social capital of countries. The present study tries to find an answer to the question of how the performance of Iranian state media in the first week of the Corona crisis was related to the country's social capital, In this regard, it was attempted to provide a conceptual framework and explain the "impact of media on social capital". To collect the required data, the state news agencies IRNA, IRIB and Fars were investigated. For this purpose, using the content analysis method, the performance of the above three news agencies were examined in two issues: attracting public participation in the face of the crisis as well as the degree of trust in the performance of the government (executive branch) in critical situations. Regarding the two issues of public participation and trust in the performance of the Eleventh Government, the findings revealed the role of interfering variables on the performance of the media can be observed to some extent. These variables were seen more in the category of trust in government performance than in the category of public participation.
